How to remove a tick at home?

The number of ticks is steadily increasing every year. Some believe that the ban on burning last year's vegetation has a negative impact, while others blame global warming, but anyway, the problem is very serious, not only people but also animals suffer from parasite bites.
Mixed forests with dense moist litter serve as a favorable habitat for ticks. Parasites become active in March and April, when the temperature reaches 4-5 degrees, with peak activity occurring in the summer.
The danger may lie in wait not only outside the city, cases of infection have become more frequent in park areas and even on private territories.
The bite of arthropods can lead to the development of many diseases, the most common are borreliosis (Lyme disease), ehrlichiosis and encephalitis. The above diseases are the most difficult to treat and can lead to serious consequences such as disability and death.
The symptoms of the diseases are similar: fever, headache, nausea and vomiting may occur. Bites are accompanied by redness of the skin, and are often treated with antibiotics if timely treatment is provided.
Do not neglect the simple rules when going out of town or for a walk in the woods: use protective equipment, sprays, wear light-colored clothes, tuck in loose edges so that the insect does not have access to the body. Upon your return, be sure to check yourself and your loved ones for parasites.
What should I do if I'm in trouble? There is a misconception that if you lubricate the bite site with an alcohol-containing solution or vegetable oil, the air supply will stop, and the tick will spontaneously fall off. Do not wait for the tick to deign to leave you – you need to act urgently.
Method 1: Take tweezers, pinch the body of the tick and remove it with twisting movements.
Method 2: Take an ordinary thread 20-25 cm long, make a tightening loop, put it on the tick and gently pull it up.
If, for any reason, the head remains in the skin, use a needle, having previously disinfected it with alcohol or fire, as when removing a splinter.
After removal, the tick must be placed in a container and sent to a laboratory, where it will be found out whether it is a carrier of dangerous diseases. After confirming the infection, the doctor will prescribe concomitant treatment. In any case, do not self-medicate.
If the result of laboratory tests is negative, and after some time you feel unwell, do not ignore it, be sure to consult a doctor and emphasize that you have recently been infected with a tick.
